Although he has written much that would be called science fiction, he disdains the use of that term. He is considered one of the giants of the field by both fans and professionals and has won dozens of awards. He has written prose fiction and nonfiction, screenplays, episodic television and a computer game based on his own short story “I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream”.
