Herbert “Herb” Franklin Solow was a studio executive serving, originally on behalf of Desilu Studios, on the first and second seasons of the original Star Trek show, Star Trek: The Original Series, officially credited as “Executive in Charge of Production”. As assistant to Vice-President of Programs Oscar Katz, both men were seeking new television properties for their employer.
