With the USS Enterprise split into two sections, a confrontation with Sztazzan warriors continues for control of a moon-sized alien artefact.

The Enterprise’s saucer section has been transported to unexplored space, along with a Sztazzan flagship determined to keep Jean-Luc Picard’s crew away from the new find. Beverly Crusher leads an away team to the surface of a nearby planet, but with the power building up aboard the artefact, an explosion may be imminent.

Next, the starship’s crew is visited by the medical team that designed Geordi La Forge’s VISOR, who are tasked with giving sight to an alien prince. Then the crew are captured by a tyrant and forced to navigate their way through a deadly maze.
