The Vidiian Ship was used by Vidiians to harvest organs from other races in an effort to slow the effects of a fatal genetic disease known as the Phage. With a crew of over three hundred, this ship was armed with hyper-thermic charges and magnetic grapplers to capture and breach other vessels. When the U.S.S. Voyager was caught in a spatial rift, it was “split” into two separate vessels with duplicate crews. Only destroying one Voyager would allow the other to survive – a problem that soon became academic when Vidiian organ harvesters attacked, killing Lieutenant Tuvok and countless other crew on one Voyager. Captain Janeway activated the self-destruct, destroying her Voyager along with the Vidiians and freeing her duplicate to flee.
