“It’s one of ours, admiral. …It’s Reliant” The next bonus edition of the Star Trek Official Starships Collection features the die-cast model of U.S.S. Reliant Concept created for the movie Star Trek II.
U.S.S. Reliant Starship was the first Starfleet ship that wasn’t a Consitution-class starship. When production designer Joe Jennings and art director Mike Minor used the design of the U.S.S. Enterprise while working on a new Miranda-class starship. The original model looked like a cut down version of the Enterprise with the nacelles mounted above the sources.
This U.S.S. Reliant carefully recreates the original rejected concept of the starship as seen in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. The model ship captures the Reliant’s catamaran-like design endowed the ship with a distinctively sleek but aggressive stance. The Ship registry NCC-1864 and marking decals are included.
