V’ger is a massive alien craft capable of learning and evolving. Known as “the intruder” by Starfleet, the V’ger generated twelfth-power energy that was a scale beyond the energy-generation capacity of even thousands of starships. Deep at its core contained the Voyager 6, an unmanned deep space probe launched from Earth during the 20th century. The entire vessel surrounding the probe was built by an unknown race to help it complete its primary programming: “learn all that is learnable” and return back to its creator. During its journey, the vessel amassed knowledge and became self-aware, giving itself the name V’ger which were the only remaining legible letters from its original name.
