Ilana S. Lehmann was born in San Diego, California, and has lived at over 50 addresses across the U.S. A high school dropout, she earned her Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Education from Southern Illinois University. In 2009, she won an Outstanding Research Award from the American Rehabilitation Counseling Association. Dr. Lehmann is an adjunct professor, public speaker, author, and sci-fi nutcase. Leaving her scholarly writing behind, she has blended her expertise in disability issues, her affection for science fiction, and her cheeky sense of humor into her first book, “All You Need to Know About Disability is on Star Trek”.
