Starlog Platinum Edition was a companion publication to Starlog, both of which were published by Starlog Press. After five issues (each of which included varying degrees of Star Trek-related information), Starlog Platinum Edition was renamed as Starlog Science-Fiction Explorer. Despite this name change, the numbering of issues continued right up until issue 11, the publication’s final issue.
